How it works
End-to-end, without the guesswork.
We facilitate every Thousand Trails membership sale end-to-end. No direct buyer-seller contact. No upfront fee. Licensed real estate broker.
For sellers
List for free
Submit your membership details using our listing form. No upfront fee. We review every listing before it goes live — typically within 24 hours.
Buyers enquire through us
When a buyer is interested, they submit an enquiry through our platform. You never receive their contact details and they never receive yours. We handle all communication.
We negotiate and facilitate
Our team manages the negotiation, reviews the contract, and facilitates the transfer with Thousand Trails directly. You authorise us to liaise with TT on your behalf — we handle the paperwork.
You get paid
When the deal completes, the buyer's funds are released from escrow to you, minus our service fee. You receive the balance directly.
For buyers
Browse verified listings
Every listing has been reviewed by our team before going live. You see the contract tier, regions covered, annual dues, upgrade access, restrictions — everything you need to decide.
Enquire safely
Submit an enquiry and our team handles everything from there. We answer your questions, provide the full contract details, and manage the negotiation.
Add buyer protection (optional)
For $99, your payment is held in escrow by Escrow.com until the transfer is confirmed with Thousand Trails. Your money doesn't move until the membership is yours.
Transfer confirmed
Once Thousand Trails confirms the membership transfer, escrow releases your funds to the seller. The membership is yours.
Our promise
We handle everything — you just wait for the confirmation.
Not another phone number and a promise
Most TT resale services operate on goodwill. You call a number, describe what you want, and trust that someone will follow up. Sellers list and wait — often months — with no visibility into who's enquiring or whether anything is happening.
hitch.exchange is built differently. Every listing is online and searchable. Every enquiry is logged and timestamped. Payments go through Escrow.com — a licensed, government-audited escrow provider — not through a bank transfer to someone you've never met.
We're operated by a licensed real estate broker (Indiana licence #156112346). Our sellers have legal protection. Our buyers have escrow. And everyone can see exactly what's happening at every stage.
Service fee — sellers only, on completion
| Sale price | Service fee (8.5%) | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| $800 | $149 (minimum) | $651 |
| $1,500 | $149 (minimum) | $1,351 |
| $2,000 | $170 | $1,830 |
| $3,000 | $255 | $2,745 |
| $5,000 | $425 | $4,575 |
| $5,875 | $499 (maximum) | $5,376 |
Service fee is charged only on completion. Nothing owed if your membership doesn't sell.
Our credentials
hitch.exchange is operated by a licensed Indiana real estate broker (licence #156112346). All transactions are facilitated from Indiana, consistent with standard industry practice for multi-state real estate operations.
Escrow protection
Your money doesn't move until the membership does.
Every transaction on hitch.exchange can be backed by Escrow.com — a licensed, government-audited escrow provider. For buyers, your payment is protected until transfer is confirmed. For sellers, you get paid without chasing anyone.
For buyers
Purchase Protected
When you add buyer protection ($99), your payment goes to Escrow.com — not the seller and not us. Escrow.com holds it until Thousand Trails formally confirms the membership transfer in your name.
Only then do funds release to the seller. If anything prevents the transfer, your money comes back to you.
- ✓Payment held until TT confirms transfer
- ✓Full refund if transfer fails
- ✓No funds released on your say-so alone
- ✓Dispute resolution by Escrow.com if needed
For sellers
Payment Secured
When you require escrow on your listing, your buyer's payment is locked into escrow before the transfer process begins. No cancelled deals after you've already started the paperwork.
You get paid the moment TT confirms the transfer. No chasing, no bank transfers from strangers, no payment disputes.
- ✓Buyer funds confirmed before transfer starts
- ✓No risk of last-minute cancellation without payment
- ✓You receive funds direct from Escrow.com
- ✓Your listing shows the Payment Secured badge
Step by step
- 1
Buyer selects escrow protection
When submitting an enquiry, the buyer opts in (or is required to if the seller has enabled Payment Secured). The $99 escrow fee is paid by the buyer.
- 2
Escrow.com holds the funds
The buyer pays the full purchase amount plus the $99 escrow fee directly to Escrow.com. Neither the seller nor hitch.exchange holds buyer funds at any point.
- 3
Transfer process begins
Once funds are confirmed in escrow, our team initiates the membership transfer with Thousand Trails. The seller is protected — the money is already locked.
- 4
Thousand Trails confirms the transfer
When TT formally updates the membership into the buyer's name, Escrow.com receives confirmation from our team and releases funds to the seller.
- 5
Seller receives payment
Funds are released from Escrow.com to the seller, minus our service fee. The buyer now owns the membership. Deal complete.
